About Special Diets
Special diet meal options
Use SendaMeal's special-diet categories to start comparing food, then review each product's ingredients, allergen details and available nutrition information. A category name is not medical certification or a guarantee that a product meets an individual eating plan. Confirm the recipient's requirements before ordering or sending a gift.
Choosing your order
- Start with the relevant category: Browse vegetarian, gluten-free, low-carb, low-fat, low-sodium or diabetic categories as relevant. Verify suitability from the product details rather than the category label alone.
- Check the full dish: Sauces, sides and desserts can change the ingredient or nutrition profile of a package. Review every included item, not just the entrée.
- Confirm medical restrictions: For a prescribed diet or serious allergy, seek the information the recipient's clinician requires. If the necessary details are missing, contact SendaMeal before buying.
Before you order
Physical meal orders ship to the 48 contiguous United States via FedEx or UPS. Frozen meals are packed with dry ice in insulated packaging. Check the current delivery schedule and the methods available for your order; timing and charges can differ between shipping groups. Do not assume an exact arrival date is guaranteed. Follow the handling, storage and preparation instructions for each product. Some items require cooking rather than reheating. There is no subscription or recurring order requirement.

Common questions
Are special-diet category labels medical certifications?
No. They are shopping categories, not medical advice, treatment or an assurance that a food fits an individual medical diet.
Can I mix products from different dietary categories?
You can compare products across categories, but review each item's ingredients, nutrition and shipping terms. One suitable item does not establish that an entire mixed order is suitable.
