Thanksgiving Side Dishes Delivered: 2026 Guide

Posted by SendaMeal.com on Oct 27th 2026

Thanksgiving side dishes are the part of the holiday meal most people search for, plan around and argue about. The most popular ones are stuffing, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, cranberry sauce, gravy and dinner rolls. If you'd rather not spend Thanksgiving week peeling potatoes, SendaMeal.com ships chef-prepared Thanksgiving side dishes frozen to the 48 contiguous states. You just heat and serve. Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26, 2026.

What are the most popular Thanksgiving side dishes?

Stuffing comes out on top. In Google's 2025 holiday search data, stuffing was the most-searched Thanksgiving side in 42 of 50 states. Green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, cranberry sauce and deviled eggs rounded out the top five (USA Today). Here's how each classic maps to a ready-to-heat dish from our side dishes collection:

Which Thanksgiving side dishes should I serve beyond the classics?

Once the basics are covered, add one or two sides that fit your family or your region:

Hosting vegetarian guests? Browse our vegetarian meals and check each product's ingredient list. Some sides, like the collard greens and Brussels sprouts gratin, include bacon.

How many side dishes do you need for Thanksgiving?

A good rule of thumb is three to four sides for 6 to 8 guests and five to six sides for 10 or more. Cover these four bases and the table will feel complete:

  1. A starch: stuffing, mashed potatoes or mac and cheese.
  2. A vegetable: green beans, collard greens or Brussels sprouts.
  3. Something sweet: sweet potato casserole or corn soufflé.
  4. The finishers: gravy, cranberry relish and rolls.

Most of our casseroles serve 6–8, so one tray of each side usually covers a family of eight. For bigger crowds, double your favorites.

What is the easiest way to get all your Thanksgiving sides at once?

Order a sampler. Each one bundles several full-size sides in one shipment:

  • Holiday Essentials Sides Sampler: Sweet Potato Casserole, Traditional Herb Stuffing, Homestyle Turkey Gravy and a dozen dinner rolls. Serves 6–8.
  • Holiday Side Dish Sampler: two Sweet Potato Casseroles, eight Twice Baked Potatoes, Crème Fraîche Mashed Potatoes, Green Bean Casserole, Cranberry Sausage Stuffing and Homestyle Turkey Gravy. Serves 8–10.
  • Gourmet Side Dish Sampler: six sides, including mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, sweet potato casserole, creamed spinach, creamed corn and Broccoli-Parmesan Gratin. Serves 8–10.
  • Top-Rated Sides Sampler or Southern Sides Sampler: three crowd favorites for smaller gatherings.

Then add a main dish, like the Herb Roasted Whole Turkey or Turkey Breast with Gravy, and finish with Pumpkin Pie or Bourbon Chocolate Pecan Pie. If you want the whole meal in one box, see our Thanksgiving dinner delivery guide or shop complete meals.

How do delivered Thanksgiving side dishes arrive and heat?

They ship frozen, packed with dry ice in insulated packaging, by FedEx or UPS. Put them in the freezer when they arrive. Most sides go straight from the freezer or refrigerator into the oven. For example, our Traditional Stuffing bakes at 375°F for 45–55 minutes from frozen, or 30–35 minutes if thawed. Exact instructions for each dish are on the Preparation & Ingredients tab of its product page.

Oven space is the real bottleneck on Thanksgiving. Bake casseroles while the turkey rests, and warm gravy on the stovetop. Thaw anything you can in the refrigerator the day before to cut heating times.

When should I order Thanksgiving side dishes?

Order early. Standard delivery dates fall on a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday at least six days after you order. Deliveries aren't available on Thanksgiving Day or the day after. We suggest choosing a delivery date during the week of November 16 so your sides are in the freezer well before the holiday. Check the current Delivery Dates & Shipping Schedule before checkout. Can I send Thanksgiving side dishes as a gift?

Yes. Enter the recipient's address at checkout and add a personal gift message. A sampler of Thanksgiving side dishes is a thoughtful hostess gift, or a way to help a parent, a new family or a friend who's hosting this year. Make sure they have freezer space and can bring the box inside promptly. Learn how it works, browse our Thanksgiving collection, or see our gift baskets guide for more ideas.
